Starting a race should be the easiest part of meet day. In reality, it’s often one of the most stressful.
Cords stretched across the track, inconsistent sound, limited reach, complicated setups, and aging equipment all create unnecessary friction at the most important moment of any race: the start.
FlexStarter was created to solve that.
Why FlexStarter Exists
FlexStarter is a professional, wireless electronic starting system designed specifically for track and field and cross-country events. It delivers a clear, consistent tone start without complicated setup, proprietary lock-in, or fragile connections.
The goal from day one was simple:
make starts reliable, repeatable, and easy to manage for coaches, officials, and event staff.
Whether you’re running a championship meet or a weekday practice, FlexStarter provides confidence at the line and clarity for athletes.
Designed for Today’s Starts
Electronic and tone-based starts are becoming more common across all levels of competition. Many coaches are also looking for ways to transition athletes away from traditional methods and toward modern start systems.
FlexStarter fits naturally into that transition.
It allows teams to train with tone starts, get athletes comfortable reacting to an electronic signal, and prepare for environments where electronic starts are expected, all without introducing complexity or excessive cost.
How the System Works
FlexStarter consists of two primary components:
The FlexStarter Transmitter is a handheld device operated by the starter or official. With dedicated start and recall buttons, visual strobe indicators, long battery life, and simple controls, it’s designed to be intuitive and dependable.
The FlexStarter Receiver is placed along the start line and outputs a clear, amplified tone when triggered. Multiple receivers can be deployed simultaneously, ensuring even sound coverage across wide or staggered starts.
Together, they create a scalable system that works just as well for a single practice group as it does for a full meet.
